Kelmore offers a user-friendly and simplified range of primers for tiling and flooring applications. Our high-performance primers are specifically designed to prepare surfaces for the application of smoothing compounds, self-levelling compounds and tile adhesives. Whether you’re working with porous backgrounds such as sand:cement screeds, non-porous surfaces such as asphalt (flooring grade), or calcium sulphate screeds, our primer range provides the ideal solution for professional tilers and flooring installers. Choosing the right primer is essential before applying levelling compounds or tile adhesives, as it aids useability, strengthens the bond and improves overall performance. All our primers are pigmented to improve visibility, helping to ensure a full and even coverage during application. Primers for different background surfaces Different surfaces require different types of primers to achieve the best results: PrimeMore Universal – a primer for use on porous backgrounds such as sand:cement screeds, concrete, plaster (finish coat), plywood overlay and tile backer boards. Designed to regulate porosity, PrimeMore Universal enhances workability and improves adhesion and strength of the subsequently applied products. PrimeMore Grip – a primer for use on non-porous backgrounds such as asphalt (flooring grade), epoxy DPMs, metal (steel) and existing vinyl flooring. This bond promoting primer creates a textured, keyed surface, allowing products to bond to non-absorbent surfaces. PrimeMore CS – a ready to use, one coat primer for use on calcium sulphate and anhydrite screeds. This specialist primer creates a protective barrier which prevents reactions with cementitious adhesives and levelling compounds.
