We are delighted to share that the Kelmore team has recently raised over £1,700 for Derian House Children’s Hospice through various fundraising activities supporting the local charity.
The fundraising included a number of the team from across the business participating in the Chorley 10K and Chorley Family 2K events which took place on Sunday 3rd May.
Team members Emilia O’Connor and Mark Poole completed the Chorley 10K, while Gosia Michalik, Sarah Carmichael and Laura Boyd took on the Family 2K along with Gosia and Sarah’s sons aged just 7 and 8.
In addition, Andy Jones and Gary Heyn from Kelmore’s dispatch team successfully completed the 10-mile Morecambe Bay Walk in April alongside a large group of fellow fundraisers. The trek began in Arnside and finished in Grange-over-Sands, with participants wading through sections of the sea to reach their destination.
The total raised through these activities, alongside donations from the business itself totalled £1,710.50.
Derian House cares for more than 400 seriously ill babies, children and young people across the North West, helping families make the most of every moment together through respite care and compassionate end-of-life support. The charity relies heavily on fundraising and donations to continue providing its vital services, requiring more than £6 million each year.
The funds that have been raised have supported the charity in numerous ways with the latest donations going towards special events held for bereaved family members.
Speaking about the fundraising efforts, the Kelmore team said:
“We’re incredibly proud of everyone who has taken part in these fundraising activities. Derian House is an amazing local charity that provides invaluable care and support to children and families across the region and we’d like to thank everyone involved and all those who donated to this important cause.”
